Anyone interested in a project for the spring or summer should contact BCM Home Improvement LLC as soon as possible. The Spring through the Fall is a very busy time for most contractors and they book up early. Any project that requires a permit (such as decks or additions for example) should expect about a month wait for the city/township to process the permit during the busy times of the year. If your project requires an architectural plan, add two more weeks to the process. Please plan accordingly.


By December 31, 2005, the State of New Jersey Consumers Affairs Office required all companies involved in home improvement, repairs or remodeling to register with the State of NJ. Any company that has not registered with the State of NJ can not get a permit and will not be allowed to do work in New Jersey until they register. Before signing a contract, make sure your contractor is licensed/registered, does not have a negative consumer affairs or BBB profile and is properly insured. Request a Insurance Binder prior to signing a contract. In NJ, companies with employees are required to carry Workers Compensation Insurance. A company with no employees (owner only) is not required to carry Workers Compensation Insurance and could be covered by personal insurance. However, in the event of someone getting injured on your property, you (the homeowner) could still be sued. For your own protection, make sure any company you hire has Workers Compensation Insurance and General Liability Insurance.
